I am Kate Adams. I am a performance maker and a university lecturer at the University of Salford. At the moment I am splitting my time between Salford in the UK and Athens in Greece.
I completed my doctorate at the University of Hull drama department, specialising in contemporary theatre. I value that time a great deal, not just for what I learned academically but for the time and support in experimenting with different ways of making work, writing, directing, devising, performing, failing, trying again. I was fortunate enough to go on to lecture full time from 2006, first for a year at Queen Mary in London then permanently at Salford University.
After several years however, I realised I wanted to spend more time doing creative work, so I am now working part time with my teaching in one semester, allowing me to work creatively, think, see performance, read, write and swim and walk in the other half of the year. And of course learn Greek. This arrangement is one which I deeply appreciate.
My Salford University research page is here and you can contact me on my work email all year round: firstname.lastname@example.org.
